Well, first off, I have to tell you about the cat. Chloe, who is a boy, went to the vet this morning for his annual rabies shot. I have to give a shout-out to the Brackett Street Veterinary Clinic here in Portland. They are awesome. Hubby had the morning free, so he drove while I attempted to keep Chloe in the cardboard cat carrier. He got his head free once, and it was a little bit of a panic situation until I shoved him back inside and held the tabs down with my thumbs. He’s really strong.
We had to wait a few minutes, and I was wondering what was going on, when the receptionist came up to us and said, “I’m so sorry for the delay; we had a sick dog come in just now and you’ll be seen in a few minutes.” Awww, a sick dog.
In the meantime, we amused ourselves by petting a nice Chocolate lab, aptly named “Candy.” She was small and perky, having another breed of perkiness mixed into her, but just the friendliest dog I’ve met in a long time. She even tried to follow us into the examination room.
Our vet assistant quickly held Chloe to her side and clipped his nails in about 5 seconds flat, while we both stood there, slack-jawed. “You have to hold him like this,” she demonstrated, grabbing his hind legs and holding his head under her elbow. “Grab his hind legs so he can’t bunny-kick you.”
He was being very good, got his shot and we came home. Now he’s sleeping on the chair with hubby, very calm. He was a good boy, despite his girl cat name of Chloe, and we all love him.
Then I had to go grocery shopping. Argh. (This part deleted due to a Splogger, and I’ll talk about dieting elsewhere, Dear Reader)
That said, I found an old pic of hubby in the file cabinet:
It’s a photo of a newspaper article on him a long time ago, from when he was a ballet dancer.
He is such a hottie! And of course, I knew him back then too. So eat yer heart out, cuz he’s still mine.

Yeah I got so distracted that I forgot to write about my diet confusion! Now I’m really confused! Heh.
